Chicago's Weil-McLain Residential Boiler Specialists
Weil-McLain has manufactured boilers in the United States since 1884. Their residential lineup covers every Chicago heating application — from the atmospheric cast-iron EG Series and CGA Series for older homes with existing chimney venting, to the high-efficiency condensing GV90+ and Evergreen Pro for homeowners seeking maximum efficiency and lower gas bills.
Chicago's housing stock presents unique boiler challenges. Two-flats, three-flats, and vintage single-family homes built before 1960 often have steam systems that require cast-iron steam boilers with precise sizing and piping. Newer construction and gut-rehab projects benefit from direct-vent condensing boilers that eliminate chimney requirements entirely.
D's Air & Heating, Inc. has installed Weil-McLain boilers throughout Chicago and the southwest suburbs since 2009. Every installation includes a free Manual J heat loss calculation, City of Chicago mechanical permit, inspection coordination, and Weil-McLain warranty registration.
Whether you're replacing a failed boiler in January or planning a system upgrade, D's Air & Heating provides honest, no-contract service. Call (773) 940-0965 to schedule your free in-home estimate.

Weil-McLain Residential Boiler Installation — FAQ
How long does a Weil-McLain residential boiler installation take?
Most residential boiler replacements take one full day — typically 6 to 8 hours. Complex installations involving new piping, venting upgrades, or zone additions may require two days. D's Air & Heating will give you a specific timeline during your free estimate.
Do I need a permit for a boiler replacement in Chicago?
Yes. The City of Chicago requires a mechanical permit for all boiler replacements. D's Air & Heating pulls the permit before work begins and coordinates the inspection. Never hire a contractor who skips the permit — it creates liability for the homeowner and voids the manufacturer warranty.
What is the warranty on a new Weil-McLain boiler?
Weil-McLain residential boilers carry a limited warranty that varies by model — typically 10 years on the heat exchanger and 1–5 years on parts. D's Air & Heating registers your warranty at installation and adds a 2-year workmanship warranty on our labor.
What is the most efficient Weil-McLain residential boiler?
The Weil-McLain Evergreen Pro and Ultra Gas Series 4 reach 95%+ AFUE — the highest efficiency available in the Weil-McLain residential lineup. These condensing models use PVC direct venting and are ideal for Chicago homes where maximum efficiency is the priority.
Can Weil-McLain boilers handle Chicago steam systems?
Yes. Weil-McLain manufactures cast-iron steam boilers specifically designed for Chicago's large inventory of steam-heated buildings. The EG Series and CGA Series are proven performers in Chicago two-flats, three-flats, and vintage single-family homes with one-pipe and two-pipe steam systems.
