Aprilaire IAQ Products Chicago — Humidifiers, Air Purifiers, Ventilation

Aprilaire has been manufacturing indoor air quality products in Madison, Wisconsin since 1938. They are the leading brand in whole-home humidification and air purification, with products installed in millions of American homes. Their whole-home approach — treating all the air in your home as it circulates through your HVAC system — is more effective than portable room units.

Chicago's climate creates specific IAQ challenges. Winters are extremely dry — indoor humidity can drop to 10–20% when outdoor temperatures fall below freezing. This causes dry skin, static electricity, wood shrinkage, and increased susceptibility to respiratory illness. Summers bring high humidity that can promote mold growth in basements and crawl spaces.

Aprilaire's product line addresses both extremes: whole-home humidifiers for winter dryness, and whole-home dehumidifiers for summer moisture control. Their air purifiers and ventilation systems address year-round air quality concerns.

D's Air & Heating, Inc. installs Aprilaire products as part of complete HVAC system installations and as standalone upgrades to existing systems. Aprilaire humidifiers integrate directly with your furnace and thermostat, operating automatically to maintain your set humidity level.

Aprilaire's Model 700 fan-powered humidifier is the most popular model for Chicago homes. It uses a fan to force air through the water panel, providing higher moisture output than bypass models — important for larger homes or homes with high air leakage. The Model 600 bypass humidifier is a cost-effective option for smaller homes.

All Aprilaire installations include proper sizing, integration with your existing thermostat or a new Aprilaire thermostat, and startup commissioning. We also service and replace Aprilaire water panels and filters annually.
